It merely seems that you exercised your naivety about the profound normalized dysfunction of our species. It was our very own normalized dysfunctional society that not only permitted and enabled "the technologists who pursued control over liberation" but promoted them to positions of power. Nature, through the mechanism of evolution, has seen this many times before. After all, 95% of all species that ever existed are now extinct. We are soon to join that cohort, like a fart in the wind.
